Turkish Riviera
The Turkish Riviera (also known as the Turkish Mediterranean) is a term used to define an area of southwest Turkey. Its capital is Antalya, in the heart of the Antalya Gulf. The combination of a favorable climate, warm sea and abundant natural and archeological points of interest make this stretch of Turkey’s coastline a popular national and international tourist destination.
Among the archeological points of interest are Perge, Aspendos, Side, Termessos, Selge, Syllon, the Castle of Alara and Alanya, Selinus, Iotape, Naula, Syedra, etc... The Riviera is also the home for a fascinating mixture of factual and mythological individuals, conflicts and events.
